Why trust any of this
Everyone in this category says they tested twenty machines. We have not tested any, and we say so.
Here is what we did instead.
We read the published specification off each manufacturer’s own page and recorded where we read it. We normalized every measurement into one unit system and one column order - which matters more than it sounds, because Brother publishes its embroidery work area width-first and its quilting needle-to-arm space height-first, on the same website, with no labels. We did the arithmetic on what each step up actually buys: 4 x 4 in to 5 x 7 in is 119% more design area, not 75%.
And where a manufacturer publishes nothing, we left the cell empty and named the manufacturer. Brother publishes no maximum embroidery speed for six of the machines on this site. That gap is real, it belongs to Brother, and filling it with a plausible number would be the fastest way to make everything else here worthless.
